My practice involves the use of research-driven study as a medium of art making. I create sculptural and site-specific installations, that are based on primary data collection techniques. My body of works question the line that separates the audience from the artwork and the point at which they move away from being spectators, into becoming a part of the work. My current ongoing project is a series of artworks, which present the study of bread and its role as a cultural metaphor, against the backdrop of modern consumption practices. I have been conducting experiments using factory-made, mass-produced bread as well as home-baked bread to try to extend the possibilities of what bread can be. The experiments have also expanded to include the usage of dough as a raw material, so as to acknowledge the integral role that its geographical and cultural roots play in the way consumption habits are inherited.
